One thing that I have already done is to organize the emails of bloggers that I trust into one group that I can email immediately when I need to get the word out about something. It's a small thing, but the basis of something bigger perhaps?
I started gathering IM contacts for the same reason Art has gathered emails. This crap has GOT to stop, and I wanted the ability to get ahold of folks on a moments notice. Not the best way of doing it, but sometimes IM can be faster than email.
I think that gathering contacts for immediate one-shot communications is a brilliant starting point, so yay Art and Spcknght for that. *Minxy ass-shaking abounds*
But there has to be something that we can actually do. Something on the offence, as opposed to the defence Maybe a protest of some sort (is a petition any use? Effective? Viable? Doable?) Something that will cause a cog to turn that pushes a wheel that pulls a lever that may actually help stop this crap.
I officially throw open the floor (I love that expression, it's so stupid) to any and all ideas. Please post them here, or send them to me at minxy dot grin at gmail dot com. Once we have ideas, we can discuss merits and failings, pros and cons, and proceeed to actually doing something.
What was that slogan from my misspent youth as an earnest and eager student? "Organize, activate, get the voters out!" Or, to quote the fablious Artfuldodger: "Fuck th'fucking fuckers".
Just for the record, Gigi started the Fuck the Fucking Fuckers when she was attacked. We've sort of turned that into a rallying cry, since she was the first of this new wave.

There has to be something. Has to be. Organization and unity is crucial. And at this stage i'd also say essential.
